What is a Head Start Program?

Head Start is a community program, which includes the cooperation of educators, physicians, nurses, socialworkers, parents, and teachers, in an effort to improve the development of children from three to five years old. Educators work with small groups of children enabling them to give more attention to children's individual needs.

The goal of the program is to ensure that preschool children of the Acadia First Nation develop to their fullest ability. Head Start will be based on caring, creativity and pride that flow from knowledge of their traditional belief and positive sense of themselves.
